Short & Sweet

What I read: The Words of Every Song

Terrific collection of intertwined stories centered around the music biz in NYC. You get individual perspectives from all of the different characters as you see them passing through each other's lives. And it's all tied up neatly with a feel-good ending. I liked the way the author shared the fate of some of the characters in certain situations, proving that our paths in life aren't always so predictable.

Fall is feeling summerish

It was 80 degrees today. And yesterday we spent the afternoon chasing our 4-year-old through a corn maze with rivulets of sweat running down my back. I like the blue, blue skies and the sweet breeze, but I wish the temps had been maybe 10 degrees cooler. Although we're dropping to the more traditional 50s and 60s for the rest of the week.

What I read: What Was Lost

I've been wanting to keep a running list of the books I read as I go along, but have never gotten around to it. Thought this might be a good spot to begin keeping track. Just finished this one over the weekend. Very good read. Something about the way the author described the settings really gave me claustrophobia. I don't think that was intended, but the feelings definitely coincided with the way I believe she wanted readers to view the mall that's the main locale for the story.

A picture is worth nearly a thousand words

I found this nifty-fun site through my friend Kathy. I couldn't resist populating it with a favorite blog post of mine about my son.
